Exercising My Liberty

I created this blog due to frustration (not the best reason to create a blog, for sure, but sometimes even the wrong motivation can make a positive difference in one persons' life). A reoccurring theme kept presenting itself to me that many Americans, whether intentionally or not, have systematically removed themselves from the real world.

To most of those reading this, that may come as no shock or surprise. We have been carving a distinct society all of our own for hundreds of years that (on the surface, at least) needs no other countries to support its operation. Is it any wonder then that we, as a people, have been getting worse and worse over the years? We think less, we talk more, we consume like crazy and we just don't care about anything but ourselves. When things do get brought to our attention, we dismiss them as being overstated, preposterous and none-of-our-concern. Worse then just refusing to do anything useful, many Americans make light of a situation they know nothing at all about (There are starving children in Africa, you say? I'm sure they will manage for themselves - have been for thousands of years).

All of this (and much more) has led me to create this blog. My method will be organizing news articles pertaining to America and most anything else that I find interesting into categories. My hope is to eventually have enough categories where a person with no knowledge at all about a certain topic, can click on a title and find out why they might want to think critically about this issue.

For any would be naysayers out there, you should know that I myself am a white, born and bred American who comes from long lines of Americans and was the only person in his family to live outside of the USA. I go back to visit every so often, but do not like to stay more than a few months at a time. I love the land and the original ideas (laid down by our forefathers) but have come to loathe the execution of these ideas (politics and laws) and the people who refuse to think logically about them.
